Resume & privacy: what stays on device

Your resume stays on your device in PassInterviews. We do not upload or store it on our servers. During a live session it may be held in memory to tailor answers, then discarded. We do not keep interview recordings after the session ends.

Privacy is part of the product story, not a footer afterthought. Candidates care whether a copilot ships their CV to a random backend or keeps context local. Here is the concrete model.

Resume and job description

  • You import your resume (and optionally a job description) in the desktop app on your machine.
  • That file is not stored on PassInterviews servers for later retrieval.
  • During an active session, text may be held in memory so behavioral and experience answers match your background.
  • When the session ends, that in-memory context is discarded with the session, not kept as a lasting server-side profile document.

Audio and transcripts

To stream answers in real time, audio from the interview may be processed by speech providers so questions can be transcribed. We do not keep interview recordings on our servers after the session ends. Processors exist to run the service; we do not sell your personal data. Full legal detail is in the Privacy Policy; a shorter overview is on Security.

Account and billing data

Sign-in and payments use standard providers (Supabase, Stripe). Your dashboard account, subscription, and billing history are separate from resume files on disk. Private app routes are blocked from search indexing.

What you can do

  • Only add the resume version you are comfortable using in a live loop.
  • Remove local resume files from the app when you are done interviewing if you want a clean machine.
  • Email support for privacy requests. See Contact & Help.

Put the guide into practice
